I love marketing because it calls for the perfect blend of left and right brain thinking.
Some people steer away from the term ‘Generalist’ but I believe it’s exactly what startups and scale ups need when it comes to marketing. I’m a jack of all trades (master of some), including marketing strategy, operations, content, social media, email, automations, SEO, events, copywriting, photography and design.
I love how every day is different in marketing, but it always comes back to putting the customer first. Some might say I’m a bit obsessed with getting inside customers’ heads to understand their needs, wants and expectations – and I’m okay with that!
I’m also passionate about blending creative storytelling (AKA “right-brain thinking”) with data-driven strategies (hello “left brain”) to deliver results for clients, no matter what industry you’re in.
Personally, you’ll find I can’t go past a pop-culture reference – feel free to test me! – or an iced coffee or two.
What gets me up in the morning
What gets me up in the morning is usually the cat’s meow, immediately followed by Wordle – 933 played and counting. But what gets me through the day is the urge to reduce friction. The world is only getting more complex but if, by the end of the day, I can help reduce even just a bit of friction for all of us and make the world a little easier to navigate, then I like to think I’m doing okay.
My startup superpower
The ability to use my left and right brain, simultaneously so that I’m data-driven and analytical while also being imaginative and creative. This helps me flex from marketing strategy through to delivery.
